Hi Everyone,
We are on the eve of traveling to Tahiti for the18th Tour de L'Amitie.
Can't believe time has finally come to leave this 2012 winter for some warmer climes.

A big thank you to Eugen for setting up the Blog.
Hopefully we can all contribute a bit and let everyone know about or Tour experience.

Today Callum Fagg arrived from Tasmania and has made it to Coniston before our early morning trip to Sydney airport.

I wish everyone on Both Australian teams all the best and that our sponsors Lan Installations, Pacific plumbing, Three Threes Condiments - Koenig Expander Schiltec for there support this year.
The team kits have come up really well and the team looks forward to wearing the kit on the podium when possible.

regards
Danny

  3. The two teams had a training day today.
Everyone is going well and we have settled in quite well.

The Prologue starts tomorrow at 1pm Tahiti time and this will be the first test to see how everyone is performing.

Our Guest from Tasmania ( Callum) has gelled well and the Expander team should be in the mix early.

Craig Paull is still suffering the affects of his crash a few weeks ago and struggles to breath 100%.

The weather is warm and about 28 degrees .
Ideal for training and so far we have done two geat rides of about 80kms each.

Internet connection is very sketchy so its difficult to get information out.
    Regards

  6. Ben rode a great race today. The GC contenders Krainer (tahiti) and Aitken (Waki-Lexus Aust) with Tom our Yellow jersey attacked the bottom of the climb hard. Ben rode tempo nicely then surged to them. The 4 rode hard towards the top where Tom cracked. I was screaming at Ben "You can win this" from the scooter. Aitken got it by about 3 metres from Ben with Krainer 7 seconds behind. Tom was yellow by 40 seconds at the start of the stage and hit the line 40 seconds behind Aitken. He lost the yellow jersey by 1/100th second (hand stopwatches). Ben has now moved to 4th on GC and looking strong. Cheers, Marcus
